Grace gown by Eliza Jane Howell, between £1,300-£2,700, available at Amy King Bridal

Say hello to Amy King Bridal, Scotland’s latest wedding-wear hub. “We are based just off Kirkcaldy High Street and are providing something a little unusual, in that we run beauty services downstairs and bridal upstairs,” owner Amy introduces. “Brides can select their gown and book their beauty appointments simultaneously, taking some hassle out of organising their big day.

“It also means we can see clients again in the future, and build a long term relationship with them, as they have the option to return and take advantage of the beauty services, which are certainly not just for brides. We have tried to capture a city feel in the heart of Fife. Why travel when you can shop local?”

Hear, hear. And when covetable styles like Wtoo by Watters’ slinky, lacy Alzbeta, below, from £1,000, the irresistibly swishable Grace by Eliza Jane Howell, top, from £1,300, and, Amy’s personal favourite, Amour by Dando London, above, £2,000, are right on the doorstep, why would you even need to – especially when you could kill two w-day birds with one stone and get pampered while you’re at it?

“I think Amour sums up the boutique,” considers Amy. “It’s classically glamorous but with a contemporary twist. The train is just spectacular and I adore the scallop beading and low illusion back – ideal for modern brides who are looking for something a bit different.”

We’re expecting big things from this one.
