Some of Grampian’s top suppliers collaborated on this bold, alternative bride and groom styled shoot at BrewDog’s headquarters in Ellon where the happy couple whizzed off into the sunset on a motorbike!
Aberdeenshire-based wedding photographer Samantha Clyne hasn’t been sitting back and riding pillion when she’s not been capturing weddings: she’s been busy coming up with the concept for a fun alternative styled photoshoot in one of her region’s coolest locations.
“I felt inspired following a date night with my husband at BrewDog DogTap in Ellon,” recalls Samantha. “I noticed they had a ‘Beer Museum’ and thought it would make an amazing, unique location for a wedding. I emailed the events coordinator asking if they would consider a styled bride and groom shoot and was delighted when they replied yes!”
Things moved along quickly after that, with Samantha keen to incorporate some of the year’s most striking wedding trends. “I noticed how bright, pastel colours and bold aesthetics were prevalent, so I wanted to include those as much as I could,” she says. Lana Lou’s Cake Studio provided a fun swags-and-tails iced pastel peach cake tower, while venue stylist Without a Hitch went for it with disco balls and colour-pop tapered candles.
Samantha reached out other talented suppliers in the area, shared her brief and let them work their magic. “We really are so lucky to have some incredible wedding suppliers within Aberdeenshire who made my vision come to life. I’m super thankful to every one of the contributors for their creativity.”
The punk spirit of the day arose because Samantha had always dreamed of photographing a wedding with a motorbike in it and she found local supplier, Shirlaws Motorcycles, was more than happy to oblige with the loan of one.
For a bride on a bike, short dresses and leathers were crucial and thankfully Ivory Grace Bridal and Amy Singer Art came up with the goods.
