Glasgow welcomes the Gay Wedding Show for the first time

In February, MSPs passed a bill to legalise same-sex marriage, making Scotland one of the most progressive countries in the world (we are now one of just 17 countries who allow same-sex couples to marry).

The first weddings are planned for the autumn, and being wedding-mad here at BSW we are delighted for all the new soon-to-be brides and grooms!
Sadly, in America there have been several well-publicised cases where suppliers have refused to help gay and lesbian couples (one photographer in New Mexico was sued for discrimination and a petition circulated for a Denver cake maker) so it’s crucial that couples find suppliers that treat all couples equally – regardless of the gender of the person they’re marrying. For the past 11 years, the Gay Wedding Show has helped same-sex couples meet accommodating suppliers that would be delighted to play a small part in your big day. The show is making its Glasgow debut on 18th May at chic venue Arta in the Merchant City, and will host of some of Scotland’s top wedding suppliers, including venues, photographers, celebrants and cake makers.
The Gay Wedding Show will be held 18th May at Arta.

We’ve also rounded up some of our favourite same-sex big day products from the web:
