The highlandwear favourite headed to the Outer Hebridean island where they conducted both a kilt fitting service and photoshoot to welcome the new check

Leave it to groomswear experts MacGregor and MacDuff to showcase their latest Harris Mist tartan in the most unconventional of ways. They headed to the island, famed for its machairs and gin, and recruited six gents who live on Harris to model the new check. Doesn’t it look incredible pictured against the backdrop of the landscape that served as its inspiration?
The company held a kilt-fitting service on the island to celebrate the tartan’s launch, measuring and styling several local fellas for their special photoshoot. “We decided that using locals rather than professional models would be the most fitting way to pay homage to the tartan’s roots,” MacGregor and MacDuff’s Holly Nicholl tells us.

“We visited the island’s most iconic spots, including Luskentyre Beach, the Isle of Harris Distillery and Borve Lodge Estate. Our Harris Mist tartan has never looked more at home.” Local chaps Eoghan, James, Kevin, Kieran, Nickolai and Scott were more than happy to take part, and each was given hand-made kilts as a thank you.
The company host kilt fitting services across the globe, and can lend a helping hand to gents looking for highland attire in New York, Toronto, Manchester and London. The company took this service to Tarbert, in Harris, for one day only.

The cloth features a mix of warm and cool shades of grey, blue and green with an enticing flash of burnt-orange yarn. The kaleidoscope of colour represents Harris’s striking scenery – crystal clear waters, sandy white beaches, dramatic terrain and painting-like skies.
The versatility of this tartan makes it a dream to pair with plenty of different hued outerwear, so grooms can really put a stamp on their look and make it true to their style. However the Tarbert Tweed Jacket and Waistcoat was designed to seamlessly complement the Harris Mist tartan.
