Hoping to get a more meaningful wedding gift? Etsy’s Registry has just the thing, from personalised decor to alternative rings

Etsy-lovers rejoice, there’s a new gift registry in town and it’s full of all your handmade and vintage faves.
Wedding gift registries are a good way to eliminate duplicates and help steer your guests in the right direction when it comes to presents. Gifts aren’t the be-all-and-end-all of a wedding, but it would be nice to open the personalised picture frame you had your heart set on, rather than yet another set of wine glasses.
To keep things easy for your loved ones, Etsy’s Registry allows you to select the items you like as well as any customisations you want added to the pieces.
Choose your wedding-gift must-haves from loads of small businesses across the UK, including home decor, jewellery, and more. There are also plenty of fun items to include in your w-day and hen do, from outfits to stationery.

As well as serving up a brand new registry, Etsy’s Trend Expert, Dayna Isom Johnson, has given us the lowdown on what’s trending for 2023 weddings to help you get inspired for your wedding celebrations…
1. The Lovecore Aesthetic
Adding to the many recent ‘core’ trends, like cottagecore and mermaidcore, lovecore is here to add a touch of pink and red to 2023 weddings.
Think Valentine’s Day aesthetic, with love hearts, roses and all things cheesy romance.
Lovecore is the perfect theme for an engagement party or hen do, so why not reach for some hot pink bridal accessories? From veils to wedding invitations, and everything in between, there’s plenty of lovecore looks and decor on Etsy,

2. Floral Wedding Accessories and Outfits
Spring and summer weddings are the perfect place for florals, on dresses, accessories and as part of the decor.
According to Etsy, searches for floral wedding dresses, 3D flower veils and 3D flower dresses are on the rise. And this year’s biggest floral trend is the flower choker.
Not only does this floral choker from Etsy (below) double as your something blue, the 90s-inspired accessory is versatile enough to wear again after your w-day!

3. Western-themed Weddings
Cowboy boots are hot right now, and your bridal party (or wedding) is the perfect excuse to strut your stuff in a pair. Add a bedazzled cowboy hat and you’ve got yourself a summer party look.
If you’re thinking more Wild West than festival vibes, the western-theme doesn’t stop at just accessories, with fringe dresses and western wedding dresses also gaining popularity this year.

4. Personalised Gifts for Couples
Capture the newlyweds’ special day with a gift that includes their names, wedding date, first dance song or a photo. Every couple’s love story and w-day is unique and these details make for really special presents.
If you want to get something personalised but aren’t sure what the happy couple would like, the Etsy Registry, lets couples choose which items they like as well as what customisations they’d want to include.
According to the site, there has been an increase in searches on Etsy for personalised recipe boxes, custom couple portraits and custom song plaques. In case you needed some ideas!
5. Alternative Engagement Rings
There are so many engagement ring and wedding band designs out there, from simple and classic to unique and bold. More and more, couples are opting for something a little bit different when it comes to their w-day bling.
Who says you need to stick to white diamonds, when you can choose from alternative gemstones like black diamonds, teal sapphires, and emeralds – which are all gaining popularity.

6. 2023 bridal accessories
2023 weddings are all about the accessories, and we’ve been seeing a lot of stylish brides donning gloves and sunnies as part of their bridal look.
Take it a step further with customisable pieces! From bridal bags to embroidered veils, you can really make your wedding accessories your own.

Pearl-embellishments are definitely in this year, especially after the likes of Kim Kardashian, Lizzo, Alia Bhatt and Ava Max wore pearl-embellished designs to the 2023 Met Gala. After the event, Google searches for ‘pearl dress’ skyrocketed, according to retailer Karen Millen.

7. Personalised wedding programs
Bring your theme together with your wedding stationery. From your invitations, to signage around the venue and wedding programs, opt for a cohesive design.
Including an itinerary for the day on wedding programs is a big yes for 2023 weddings, and they can be filled with photos and stories to turn them into a fun memento of the day.
