After being set up on a blind date by their very own Cilla Black (maid of honour Justine McNeil), Natalie and Steven found themselves exchanging rings at The Gailes Hotel in Ayrshire. “It was only the second venue we’d visited, but we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married,” says Natalie. “It stood out because of its high-quality personal service. It’s a laid-back, family-run place – the wedding co-ordinators made me feel very special and as if nothing was too much trouble.”
The couple also couldn’t have been happier with Grant from Dream Day Photography. “During our honeymoon, we got an email from Grant with the first proof of our photos. We were delighted – and surprised at how efficient Grant had been,” says Natalie. “We were also blown away by the pictures – he really got across the intimate feel of our day.”
Less straightforward was the bridal party’s outfits. Natalie had tried on more than a dozen dresses before she found her Ellis Bridals fishtail gown from Sarah Louise Bridal, and choosing a dress that all three bridesmaids agreed on “was almost impossible”. Happily, they eventually settled on a red dress from Angelique Lamont. But the most stressful shopping trip? That, laughs Natalie, was with the MOB, “who may have forgotten whose wedding it was!”
