Following a church ceremony in Ardrossan, Ingliston Estate and Country Club in Bishopton pulled out all the stops for this luxury wedding with 285 guests – and happy couple Megan and Darrell highly praised its staff.
After a delicious wedding meal – included in Ingliston's Capri wedding package – the party kickstarted with Drums N' Roses.
Their special day was captured by Ryan Mimiec Photography, and Megan wore a stunning Opus Couture wedding gown while Darrell donned a Slanj Kilts kilt.

Ingliston Estate's Grand Marquee
After visiting just one other potential venue, Megan and Darrell had their hearts set on Ingliston Estate when they saw its Grand Marquee.
With its glittering chandeliers and crisp white drapes, this is no ordinary big tent. “Darrell and I both had butterflies,” recalls the bride.
“The marquee is out of this world.”
And it had to be a special place – after all, they were inviting quite a crowd: 285 guests coming from all over Scotland, as well as Dublin, Belfast and Dubai.
Thankfully, the Bishopton venue had their dream date available.
“Darrell and I met in Ibiza on 12th September 2012 and we wanted our wedding date to be as close to that as possible,” says Megan.
“As an added bonus, we’d never been to a wedding at Ingliston before, so we knew it would be somewhere different for our friends and family.”
Relaxing before the wedding
With everything in place and the excitement starting to build, Megan enjoyed a night of pampering before she was ready to step into her fabulous Opus Couture dress.

“I stayed with my mum and bridesmaids at my own house, and it was so chilled as we opened gifts and sipped prosecco,” she tells us.
“The morning of the wedding was just as relaxed. I think this was down to my organisation with hair and makeup.”
Talented hairdresser Megan, who owns Megan Riddex Bridal Hair-up Specialist, knew she needed the best of the best suppliers by her side for the big day.
“I pride myself with getting the timing right for all my brides,” she says. “It was important to me to have suppliers that I’ve worked alongside and who are now my friends.”

Wedding packages at Ingliston Estate
Before heading to Ingliston, Megan and Darrell tied the knot at St Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Ardrossan.
The couple had selected the Capri package – which allowed customisable drink packages and access to the Rose Garden for photographs – and they can’t praise Ingliston’s staff highly enough.
“From the moment we booked our wedding, the team were extraordinary, especially Stephanie who was my rock throughout the whole planning process,” says Megan.
“Ingliston is a family-owned business and you can really feel their values in every detail.”
One other small thing that sealed the deal? A pint of Guinness! “My husband loves Guinness and asked for it to be served on the day, so the venue brought it in on draught.
“Another highlight was sitting at the top table, which we positioned on the stage to look out to all our loved ones in one room. That is a moment that will stay with me forever.”

Entertainment for a marquee wedding
Once the formalities were done and dusted, it was time for the couple to let their hair down in the spacious marquee.
“We’d hired Drums N’ Roses and Soul Establishment band, who kept the dancefloor full all night. It was incredible.
“Darrell and I wouldn’t change a thing about our big day. In fact, we’ve already booked an overnight stay at Ingliston to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!”
