Step inside the stunning and newly refurbished Fairmont St Andrews

We’ve been fans of the Fairmont St Andrews for a long time, largely due to its unapologetic luxury and panoramic views of the local landscape. The saying goes if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and we didn’t see how this gorgeous five-star venue could get any more beautiful. Boy, we were wrong. Dead wrong.

The Fairmont has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment, which has seen the ballroom, events rooms, and the atrium get a serious upgrade, and it’s the latter that we’re lusting after.

The jewel in the atrium’s crown is surely the ‘Zephyr’ artwork, created by renowned artist George Singer, which at 60 metres in length is one of the largest lighting installations in the world. The piece is designed to reflect the nature of the seaside town, emulating the shoals of fish in the bay and the blowing reeds on the clifftops. This is in keeping with the hotel’s core interior design motif of ‘bringing the outside in’, which, we would hazard a guess, seems to be working. Regardless, it’s sure to look stunning in those all-important wedding pics.

The Fairmont’s general manager, John Keating, has remarked of the refurb that: “The stylistic changes to our event space draws on the fresh colour palette of the surrounding countryside with coppers, greens and blues, all reflective of our position sitting on the peninsula overlooking the historical and beautiful town of St Andrews.”

If art’s not really your thing, then there’s still plenty to be enjoyed at this staple Fife venue. The resort boasts not one but two championship golf courses, and a top-of-the-line spa which offers a range of treatments, including massages, facials, and relaxation therapy.

If your wedding is set to be an all-out luxe fest, then you’ll want to keep the Fairmont St Andrews in mind – this is one venue that just can’t help but impress.
