So nice you’ll look twice: we headed to Trump Turnberry, a gorgeous five-star resort in Ayrshire, to capture wow-worthy statement gowns for brides and the season’s most elegant looks for mums
Trump Turnberry
The photoshoot team experienced five-star service at Trump Turnberry, a landmark on the Ayrshire coast that offers a wide range of diverse spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Nestled in 800 acres of countryside, the resort boasts optional features, ranging from a horse-drawn carriage for the happy couple, to a piper welcoming guests on arrival.
Romantic views out to sea, or of the 150-year-old lighthouse, make for wedding photos that will live long in the memory. Trump Turnberry is where fairytale charm meets elegant luxury, and the dedicated wedding team can ensure that your special day lives up to your wildest dreams.
Wedding day makeup
Georgina Kane of I Do Makeup by Geo Kane tells us how she achieved Eve’s flawless bridal look: “I mixed a pea-sized amount of Oriflame Waunt Woke Up Like This Skin Retoucher with NARS’ Radiant Longwear foundation, resulting in a gorgeous long-wearing, glowing finish on the skin. By Terry’s Hyaluronic Pressed Hydra-Powder set the look.
“Meanwhile on Sylvie, I used NARS’ Sheer Glow foundation, finished with Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder and the same brand’s pink blush, which gives the skin a beautiful, diffused fresh look.”

Bride and mother of the bride or groom hair
How did Annette Green at Verdi Femme Hair and Beauty approach the models’ hair? “I prepped Eve’s lush locks with a medium-hold spray and texture powder at the roots, then used a small curling wand before pin-curling to set the hair. Once cooled, I removed the pins and teased the hair into waves before a skoosh of medium-hold Schwartzkopf hairspray.
It was a similar approach with Sylvie’s hair, as Annette tells us: “I applied Schwartzkopf Dust It powder to the roots, backcombed to give volume, then pinned and rolled the hair into a smooth roll at the back, leaving a few pieces at the front for softness.”
The flowers
Dundee-based The Greenshed Flower Studio is a luxury florist specialising in weddings and elopements. “We’ve made everything from floral clouds to giant floating floral hoops (and everything in between),” says owner Helen Hardman.
They supplied a beautiful bouquet of rose, peony, delphinium, freesia, sweet pea, stock, hydrangea, orlaya, astrantia, nigella and lisianthus tied with luxe velvet ribbon, made to order. The florist also provided a wrist corsage of limonium, bunny tails, sweet william and eryngium.
