To mark the 29th of February – traditionally the only date in the calendar when women can ask men for their hand in marriage – Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is celebrating unique and inspiring proposals.
The hotel group is calling for couples to share their memories, and any photography, from the milestone moment they said yes to spending the rest of their lives together.
According to The Knot survey of over 12,000 brides and grooms, less than 1% of women proposed to their male partners, yet trends are showing that more and more men would be excited to be asked.
Whether proposing to a man or a woman, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is celebrating all tales of love, commitment and courage and will treat one lucky couple to a romantic break, complete with overnight stay, dinner in the double AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and access to the luxurious spa facilities.
To take part, couples should send their story, proposal photographs and the date they said yes to firstname.lastname@example.org or post on Macdonald Hotel’s Facebook page by 31st March 2020.
Anne Peters, Group Wedding Executive at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “As one of the area’s most popular wedding destinations, we are lucky to be able to share in the stories of couples beginning their lives together. While we are hearing more and more about women taking the leap, we are encouraging all those in love to have the courage to ask that all important question.
“And this isn’t just about celebrating women popping the question on the 29th of February, but rather about inspiring anyone who feels they are ready – no matter the time of year.
“We want to hear from anyone who wishes to share their story and look forward to welcoming one lucky couple to our hotel for a romantic break.”
Macdonald Crutherland House Hotel & Spa, Macdonald Houstoun House and Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa are all participating in the call out.
