Once a working lighthouse tender sailing Scotland’s western seas, this 70-metre ship has been transformed into a luxurious and exclusive-use wedding venue with impeccable style and maritime charm.
Weddings aboard Scotland’s five-star floating hotel
Following a £5 million restoration, Fingal now offers a seamless blend of history and glamour. Its 22 individually designed cabins, each named after Scottish lighthouses, are a celebration of craftsmanship and comfort – from map-inspired headboards to helm-shaped bathroom taps.
The magnificent Skerryvore Suite is where newlyweds rest their heads, but it could effortlessly double up as a getting-ready space prior to the ceremony.
Wedding spaces on board Fingal
At the heart of the ship is the Ballroom, a showstopping space in the former hold that hosts ceremonies, dining and evening receptions for up to 60 seated guests (or 100 for evening celebrations).
Not only does it have two sweeping staircases – perfect for a grand entrance – but it has a metallic ceiling that shimmers in the light, mirroring the water outside.

Next up is the Bridge, Fingal’s former command centre and home to the ship’s wheel, up on the top deck. With waterfront views and access to the other decks, this smaller space works brilliantly for micro weddings. It’s filled with natural light, so is ideal for the bridal party’s prep too.
As you might imagine, there are masses of photo opportunities on board. One not to be missed is Fingal’s original Engine Room, a glass-walled space down below decks where you can see the ship’s inner workings. Escape here for a perfect quiet ‘just the two of us’ moment post-ceremony.
Wedding food and drink at Fingal
On the top deck, the Lighthouse Bar and Restaurant adds an extra touch of indulgence. Its Art Deco style, award-winning menus (already recognised with two AA Rosettes) and terrace views over Leith’s vibrant waterfront make it an exceptional space for a wedding drinks reception or next-day breakfast.
Couples can expect a bespoke wedding breakfast menu tailored to their tastes, featuring the finest Scottish produce – think fresh Eyemouth crab, Borders lamb and Perthshire strawberries.
Exclusive-use Edinburgh venue
Fingal offers exclusive use of the entire ship, meaning your wedding party can stay together on board in luxury.
