Fingal Hotel: historic exclusive use ship wedding venue in Edinburgh

Your ship awaits aboard Fingal Hotel, a spectacular luxury hotel on the historic waters of Leith, offering a unique setting for stunning wedding celebrations.

What was once a working ship, spending 35 years in Scotland’s treacherous waters delivering supplies to lighthouse keepers across the Western Isles, is now an elegant, docked wedding venue following a £5m investment.

With its glittering interiors, luxurious cabins, top-notch service and unmistakeable air of romance, Fingal is the ultimate venue for your exclusive wedding.

Ceremony and reception spaces at Fingal Hotel

Thoughtfully decorated, Fingal Hotel’s interiors have been designed to exude a feeling of glamour and luxury, providing an idyllic backdrop to your nuptials.

The Bridge

Located in the ship’s original command centre is a beautiful private dining area for up to 10 guests – ideal for pre-wedding meals or bridal preparations. The space features access to historical handwritten logbooks from Fingal’s days at sea, including outdoor decks with original ship telegraphs.

The Bridge’s stunning views across the vibrant working port and light-flooded setting is also a spectacular spot for a quiet elopement just the two of you.

The Ballroom

In Fingal’s former hold is the warm, inviting atmosphere of the Ballroom, an elegant space for your ceremony and evening reception.

Featuring curved walls, portholes, a glimmering double-height ceiling and two grand sweeping staircases, including a raised gallery and private bar, it’s a show-stopping space for up to 60 seated guests and 100 evening guests.

The Lighthouse Bar

Join your friends and family in the Art Deco inspired Lighthouse Bar for a glass of Champagne and mouth-watering canapés post-ceremony, where you can capture jaw-dropping wedding photography.

The Skerryvore Suite

For the newlyweds, the jewel in Fingal’s crown is the Skerryvore Suite, named after one of the world’s most striking lighthouses, Skerryvore Lighthouse.

The suite boasts a large living space, sumptuous fabrics, access to a private deck and a dazzling ensuite rolltop bath, as well as a minibar full of local delights.

Wedding catering and luxury service

Newlywed testimonial

"We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and all of the incredible team at Fingal. It truly is a very special vessel and you and the team went above and beyond to make our day spectacular, so thank you. You and the team embraced our creative vision for our wedding, creating a truly bespoke experience for us and our guests rather than restricting us to a set package.
