Live performances played an important part in music teacher Caitlin and her partner Robert's big day, with the bride's pupils (and even her mum!) singing throughout the day

“At first, I wanted my wedding themed around Las Vegas, with casinos and lots of glitz, but when I found my dress I based everything round this instead. The rose gold detailing was mirrored in the jewellery worn by the bridal party, table plan and stationery. It really complimented the ivory that was the other colour in our palette.
I’m a music teacher, so live performances were a vital part of the day. At the ceremony in St Mary’s Parish Church there was a harpist, organist and some of my private pupils sang. At the drinks reception there was a pianist, followed by our wedding band, Sugarush, and a surprise set from Drums N’ Roses.
One item I couldn’t resist was Sophia Webster shoes for my flowergirls. They matched my shoes and were just too cute to say not to! We also managed to score a couple of bargains – we bought wooden place names from VM Bespoke and spray painted them rose gold.
I worked so hard for two years to save for my wedding, and took on additional hours and extra jobs to give our guests an amazing experience. I wouldn’t change a single thing about our day. Apart from making it longer (it goes by so quickly).
I couldn’t believe how emotional my dad and I were walking down the aisle. My heart was pounding out my chest. Another special moment was my mum singing ‘Proud Mary’ with the wedding band and the room going wild.”
Top tip: “A Spreadsheet! Put down everything you want with an estimated price and what the actual cost is. Then keep updating your spreadsheet to keep focused and up-to-date with payments.”
