What makes Slater Menswear stand out from the crowd?

Lots of things! How about our free alterations service on all tailoring purchased online or in store? This ensures you’ll look your best in your outfit. Shortening trousers and taking in jackets can be quite costly, so by doing it for free, we hope to take some of the financial pressure off our customers.

What do you think is the look of 2024?

We are seeing a lot of three-piece suits in blue and beige tones this year. And there has been a noticeable increase in the number of guys asking for linen suits – these work really well for a summer wedding, or indeed for someone who is marrying abroad.

You’re well known for off-the-peg suits – do you offer anything bespoke?

We’ve recently launched a ‘made to order’ service, which is a great idea if you’re buying for a special occasion such as a wedding. This is an appointment-only experience in a room that’s away from the shopfloor and allows you to personalise elements from collars to cuffs down to embroidery details. This service is currently available in three stores, one of which is Glasgow.

Tell us something about Slater Menswear that people might not know

A real fun fact about us is that our Howard Street store in Glasgow city centre is actually in the Guinness Book of Records. We are the undisputed largest menswear store in the world. So chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for here!

You can shop at Slater Menswear in multiple locations across Scotland, including Glasgow and Edinburgh. The retailer also operates online
