The history behind Hawksmoor

Inspired by childhood memories of unforgettable steak, Hawksmoor was founded in 2006 by two friends with a passion for high-quality ingredients and simple, beautiful cooking.

Today, the brand is celebrated in cities across the world – from London and Manchester to Chicago and New York. Hawksmoor Edinburgh’s 165-cover restaurant includes two beautifully appointed private dining rooms overlooking the main space – ideal for intimate weddings and larger gatherings.

Tellers Room

The Tellers Room is Hawksmoor’s largest and most versatile private space: a grand, light-filled room accommodating up to 48 seated or 60 standing guests for.

Its impressive proportions are complemented by original limestone walls, elegant window detailing and reclaimed parquet flooring – creating a memorable backdrop for family-style feasts, heartfelt toasts and cocktail-fuelled celebrations.

McLellan Room

Warm, intimate and luxurious, the McLellan Room evokes the feel of a private members’ club. Named after Scottish artist Sadie McLellan – whose etched glass windows appear throughout the building – the space combines craftsmanship, character and comfort. 

Hosting up to 13 guests around a single grand dining table – complete with a Lazy Susan for easy sharing – it’s the ideal spot for a relaxed yet elegant wedding meal. The room’s impressive double-height doors also make for a striking entrance, adding a subtle touch of drama to your celebration.

Hawksmoor is known for some of Scotland’s best steaks and sustainably sourced seafood, paired with award-winning cocktails and an exceptional wine list. Its sharing menus – many named after prize cattle – showcase seasonal dishes and Hawksmoor favourites at a range of price points. 

Served family-style, steaks are cooked to order, carved and presented in sizzling cast-iron skillets alongside Hawksmoor’s legendary sides and sauces, with shared puddings to round off your feast.

For smaller groups, individual set menus are also available, with options to elevate your experience through cocktail or canapé receptions, after-dinner drinks or thoughtful wedding day gifts.

Hawksmoor Edinburgh also offers a curated wine list to complement your menu, with the option to bring your own bottles for a corkage fee.

Hawksmoor Edinburgh has no hire fee and works on a flexible minimum spend, making weddings accessible for a range of budgets. 

The Tellers Room has a minimum spend from £4,000 (varying by day and service time), while the McLellan Room starts from £1,000. 

Full venue hires are completely bespoke, with pricing dependent on date and whether you choose a lunch or dinner service.
