In the beginning
Lucy and Kyle’s relationship began on holiday in Ibiza in 2014. “We were inseparable from the word go,” she says. Living just 15 minutes apart near Glasgow meant they quickly built a life together, buying their first home in 2019 and later welcoming their dog, Duke.
Kyle proposed at Rome’s Trevi Fountain on his 30th birthday. “Kyle knew my favourite film is 'The Lizzie McGuire Movie'… Even so, I was totally thrown when we got there and he got down on one knee,” laughs Lucy.
Choosing Ingliston Estate & Country Club as their wedding venue
The couple initially considered an Ibiza wedding but prioritised having all their guests present. After changing venues during planning, they found their perfect match at Ingliston Estate and Country Club in Bishopton.
“We switched to Ingliston Country Club, which was my absolute dream venue.”
Although their anniversary date was unavailable, moving to the Friday meant they could keep almost all their suppliers — key for bringing their vision together.
Ibiza-inspired styling meets Scottish wedding elegance
While staying in Scotland, Lucy and Kyle brought strong Ibiza influences into their day. “We had many nods to Ibiza,” she explains, from table names based on clubs to a saxophonist playing EDM favourites.
The Ingliston marquee wedding space provided a neutral base for their styling. A palette of white, cream and gold was layered with candlelight and statement florals by JAM Events.
“I wanted our 90 guests to walk in and be wowed.”
Aisle florals, a large statement arch and personal touches — including baby’s-breath as a nod to Lucy’s parents’ wedding — added depth without overwhelming the space.

A personal humanist ceremony in Renfrewshire
The couple chose a humanist ceremony led by family member Tim Newman. “Amazing, emotional and funny,” Lucy recalls.
“Tim has known us since we got together, so there was no one better placed to share a wee insight into us.”
Kyle and Lucy also made a conscious decision to stay together throughout the day — something Lucy says was one of their best choices.

Meaningful details and memorable moments
Personal touches ran throughout the wedding. Kyle wore his late grandfather’s cufflinks, while Lucy carried photo charms in her bouquet. A remembrance table honoured loved ones who couldn’t be there.
One of the standout moments came after the ceremony when their Cavapoo, Duke, arrived in a tuxedo.
“Duke is the light of our lives… one of my favourite parts of the day.”
A high-energy reception with Ibiza party vibes
Music played a central role in this Ingliston wedding reception. From ‘Praise You’ by Fatboy Slim to ‘Levels’ by Avicii, the soundtrack reflected the couple’s Ibiza connection.
They even hosted a husband-versus-wife DJ battle. “It was hilarious, and I won – of course!” Lucy laughs.
Glow sticks, sunglasses and a packed dancefloor kept the energy high.
“There was non-stop fun, singing and dancing… we genuinely danced the night away.”
Wedding speeches and surprises
Speeches brought both laughter and emotion. “My dad did a wonderful speech… there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Ava (my maid of honour and sister) spoke.”
Kyle’s speech had an unexpected interruption: “His phone started ringing during his speech… We still can’t believe it!”
