Today, Simon Porter is now the fifth generation of the family to serve as managing director, overseeing the day-to-day running and management.

Materials, gemstones and in-house collections

James Porter & Son specialise in all precious metals and GIA certified diamonds, including an extensive collection of lab grown diamonds. Additionally, a beautiful selection of coloured gemstone rings and jewellery, featuring sapphires, emerald and rubies are also available.

The inaugural in-house collection launched recently – the Porter’s Studio Collection – features Simon Porter’s own designs and are set with certified lab grown diamonds in platinum and yellow gold.

Recarlo and Pasquale Bruni, luxurious family-run Italian brands, are also available at James Porter & Son, offering a wealth of options to choose from for your jewellery needs.

Appointments can be booked via the website at any time, and the store is open seven days a week for walk-in appointments.

When should I start shopping for a wedding ring?

As wedding rings can be an expensive purchase in the run up to your wedding, James Porter & Son advise organising your rings as far in advance as possible in case of any delays.

Classic wedding rings are around 2-3 weeks for delivery; diamond set designs are around 4-6 weeks and bespoke/complex designs can take around 10-12 weeks. 

What is the price range?

How do I find out my ring size?

James Porter & Son have a helpful printable ring size guide that can be downloaded from the website. In-store staff are also available to measure you on-site.

Are there finance or payment plans available?

Yes, for special orders, James Porter & Son require a 10% upfront deposit with the remaining balance paid up in-store or over interest-free credit.
