A first-hand review of two cutting-edge, non-invasive treatments ideal for brides prepping for glowing skin and body confidence

Scotland’s newest pre-wedding skin and body treatments

Looking for high-tech, zero-downtime treatments before your wedding? FAB Salons in Rutherglen, Glasgow, has become one of the first places in Scotland to offer the Slimyonik Air Body Styler and Byonik Laser Facial.

Designed to reduce bloating, boost circulation and hydrate the skin, these non-invasive treatments are fast becoming a favourite among brides-to-be. TTKS editor Beth went to try them for herself.

Inside FAB Salons, Glasgow

I’ll be honest: when owner Laura Porter invited me to test the new facial and body treatment, I hesitated. My dry, sensitive, psoriasis-prone skin doesn’t respond well to surprises. But Laura immediately put me at ease. Warm, calm and incredibly knowledgeable, she talked me through everything before we began.

Her salon is a relaxing space with zen-like treatment rooms and a loyal client base drawn to its collagen-boosting peels, non-surgical body contouring, advanced hair removal and tailored facial treatments.

Slimyonik and Byonik launched in August, and Laura says her diary has been packed ever since.

What is the Slimyonik Air Body Styler?

The Slimyonik system is an air-pressure massage suit that boosts oxygen flow while stimulating the lymphatic system. The result? Reduced bloating, improved skin tone, better circulation and a gentle detox effect.

Laura zipped me into what looked like the bottom half of a spacesuit. As the suit’s air chambers inflated around my legs and midriff, the pressure built in a rhythmic pattern. It felt unusual, but surprisingly soothing — and can easily be adjusted if you prefer it gentler.

How the body treatment works

A nasal cannula delivers oxygen-enriched air, giving cells a 40% oxygen boost to support fat processing and circulation. Meanwhile, Laura used a Lipofirm radio-frequency device on my midriff to stimulate collagen and help mobilise waste.

The sensation is like a deep, multi-handed massage that encourages the lymphatic system to clear out toxins. Within minutes, I felt cocooned and relaxed.

How the Byonik Laser Facial works

With the bodysuit still running, Laura started the Byonik Laser Facial — the world’s only pulse-triggered facial that syncs with your heartbeat to maximise absorption.

She double-cleansed my skin and applied antioxidant-rich hyaluronic acid before sealing it with blue laser light. Then came red light to stimulate collagen production, followed by more blue light to calm inflammation and strengthen the skin barrier.

Although technology is the star here, Laura’s facial massage, pressure-point work and a cooling rose-quartz mask elevated the treatment into something deeply restorative.

Treatment benefits for brides

Both treatments are non-invasive, painless, and have no downtime, which is ideal for pre-wedding prep. Laura advises that Slimyonik works best as a course, particularly for brides wanting gradual, noticeable improvements in bloating and contouring.

It’s a complement to a healthy lifestyle rather than a one-off fix.

The next day, I felt energised and visibly less bloated around my middle. My skin looked hydrated, smooth and plump, with a fresh, makeup-ready glow that lasted several days — even with just my basic moisturiser.

If you're preparing for a big event, these treatments offer fast, effective results without irritation or downtime.
