The museum is located at Lady Victoria Colliery, Newtongrange, just eight miles from Edinburgh with lots of transport links from Midlothian.

How much does a wedding at the National Mining Museum Scotland cost?

For a 1.5-day ceremony and reception hire in 2025, pricing is set at £2250. However, a 25% midweek venue hire discount is available Tuesday to Thursday.

Prices are subject to 20% VAT.

Wedding catering at National Mining Museum

Currently, the National Mining Museum does not offer in-house catering. However, they are happy for you to work with your chosen reputable external caterer*. Your caterer will serve as your event manager and should provide event staff, crockery, cutlery and white table linen.

*Your caterer will be required to meet with the NMMS team to discuss your wedding, terms and conditions and sign a contract prior to you confirming their services.
