The Savings Bank is an exclusive Victorian wedding venue located just south of Glasgow city centre. Set within a beautifully restored listed building, the venue offers architectural character, flexible layouts and bespoke wedding packages designed to suit a wide range of styles and budgets.

A historic Glasgow wedding venue with contemporary flexibility

Originally constructed in 1889, The Savings Bank was built as a radical new institution designed to support Glasgow’s working class. Over the decades, the building has lived many lives – from savings bank to Greek restaurant and poker venue – each leaving its own imprint on the space.

Today, The Savings Bank has been carefully restored to celebrate its architectural heritage while introducing modern upgrades throughout. Original features sit alongside contemporary lighting, acoustics and state-of-the-art AV, creating a distinctive setting for weddings that feel both characterful and current.

Entry through the ornate wrought-iron gates immediately sets the tone, while the mezzanine level offers a unique viewpoint of the original Victorian dome – a striking feature visible only from within the venue.

The main wedding hall combines scale with intimacy, making it well-suited to both daytime ceremonies and evening celebrations.

The flexible layout allows couples to shape the space to suit their plans, whether hosting a formal seated meal, relaxed banquet or lively evening celebration.

Bespoke wedding packages and catering

The Savings Bank offers fully bespoke wedding packages, allowing couples to build a celebration that reflects their priorities and budget. Unlike many city venues, there are no restrictive package structures or fixed catering requirements.

Dedicated wedding coordinators support couples throughout the planning process, ensuring each detail aligns with their vision. Catering is provided by independent chefs who offer both seated dining and banquet-style menus, inspired by local flavours and the building’s 140-year history.

Bar, facilities and finishing touches

The fully renovated bar is licensed until 1am and offers a wide selection of spirits, beers, wines and soft drinks, with bespoke cocktails available on request.

For added comfort on the day, the venue includes a private bridal suite with en-suite shower and restroom – providing a quiet space to pause, reset and prepare during the celebrations.
