Is the classic white wedding just not for you? Then check out this gorgeously gothic styled photoshoot from Honey and Violet Weddings, which uses an autumnal colour palette to create a moody, romantic vibe

Not every bride wants to look like a classic princess on their wedding day. This shoot was dreamt up by Honey and Violet Weddings for brides with an alternative sense of style, fully embracing the richer, darker tones of Scotland’s nature in autumn and winter.

Owners and hair and makeup supremos Lisa Blishaa and Nicola Denham tell us more: “The theme was ‘dark fairytale’. We wanted to create the feeling of being lost in nature and chose Roman Camp Hotel in Callander as our location. It provides a gorgeous outdoor setting with lots of hidden gems in the gardens and plenty of dark moody corners inside the building too. Its old vintage styling was exactly what we were looking for. The huge fireplace, library and hidden chapel were fantastic to shoot in.

“We styled the bride’s hair in a waterfall braid and low, loose bun. The makeup was soft and natural, with subtle flashes of darker tones (like a deep brown lip) to reference the surrounding nature. The gold slip dress was a simplistic touch of elegance, while the backless, lace and floaty gowns were more natural.”
