We couldn't let National Dog Day go past without rounding up some adorable photos of dogs at weddings. Featuring kilts, bow ties and cuddles...

If you couldn't already tell from our Instagram, we're pretty dog-obsessed here at Tie the Knot Scotland. So, dogs at weddings are the perfect combination for us.

We asked several Scottish photographers to send us some of their favourite photos of people celebrating their big day with their furry friend by their side.

Prepare to have your heart melted by these adorable faces...

Peanut the dachshund looked adorable in his kilt at his pawrents Rachel and Robert's wedding. Chris Guthrie Scott Photography captured this sweet photo of the handsome chap stealing the show.

A wedding ceremony with a dog is a wedding ceremony we want to be at. Julia and David tied the knot at Strathallen Castle with their beautiful dog in tow.

Siobhan Diamond snapped this adorable moment at the top of the aisle.

Danielle Leslie Photography captured these precious moments between Kirsty, Sam and their dog during their wedding at Logie Country House.

Sasha and Rody included their beautiful dog Rolo in their wedding day. Holeyn Heritage Photography captured the cute pooch looking dapper in a tartan bow tie.

Suzanne and Brendon's intimate elopement at Woodend of Glassel included all of their dogs.

Their photographer Danielle Leslie commented: "It was super sweet and romantic and the dogs played a big part of the afternoon for them."

Saying 'I do' at Fortingall Village Hall last August, Katie and Liam took their pup with them when they ventured out to get photos with Luke Bennett Photography.

Luke explained: "This wedding was in a really lovely rural location, so much so that we could take a stroll along the road to get these photos.

"I know how much people love their dogs so I wanted to get a great portrait of their dog. I chose to have Katie and Liam in the background with the kilt and wedding dress showing so when they see this photo it will always take them back to this special day. "

Kara and Mark tied the knot at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh on 21 October 2023, and Alysa Tarrant of Wildling Weddings made sure to snap some photos of their adorable dog.

She said of the day: "This was such a gorgeous wedding in one of Edinburgh's newest venues and we had a quick run around of the iconic Edinburgh locations like The Vennel and Royal Mile.

"Their lovely pup matched the groom's tartan and stole the show, strutting his stuff over the bride's dress during portraits."

Mairi and  Alex married at Enterkine House Hotel and were joined by their little dog Walter.

Nicole Parrack Creative snapped this adorable photo and told us: "When I met them for their engagement shoot they said Walter would be the star of the show, and he certainly was a little star. He got ready with the guys and walked his humans down the aisle.

"When it was time for photos with his mum and dad, he ran as fast as his little legs could manage! Walter is clearly so important to his humans so I wanted to capture great shots of him they would love."
